Scanning Electron Microscopic Observation of Flower Bud Differentiation of Cymbidium goeringii in Habitat of Korea

Abstract
Axillary buds of Cymbidium goeringii in habitat were observed weekly with stereo microscope from 2nd May to 13th October. Growing point enlargement which represented early stage of flower bud differentiation was observed on 26th May. Sepal and petal primordia were differentiated on 2nd and 16th June. Column and pollen primordia were observed on 30th June and 7th July, and flower organs were completely formed on 14th July. After that, there were not shown any changes in axillary buds sampled from July to August summer. However, second growing point enlargement was observed on 25th August when the temperature dropped gradually. And then the second period of flower bud differentiation was progressed more rapidly than that of the first one and finished on 22nd September. It was identified that flower organs were differentiated firstly sepal, lip, petal, column, and pollen in order. The differentiation of the second floret primordia were observed after formation of the first initiation of floret
